Global Tank Storage Awards 2026. Interview with Gianluigi Campisano at StocExpo on TAS Nuovo Petrol.

Automation of storage terminals: an interview with Gianluigi Campisano and the final of the Global Tank Storage Awards 2026

How is tank terminal automation changing? Gianluigi Campisano, Head of the Loginet Fluid Logistics business unit, discusses it in an interview with StocExpo, given after Loginet was shortlisted as a finalist at the Global Tank Storage Awards 2026. At the heart of the conversation is TAS Nuovo Petrol, Loginetโ€™s TAS (Terminal Automation System) for the digital management of terminals.
What will the future of tank terminal operations look like?

Loginet, with TAS Nuovo Petrol, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Digital Transformation Solution category at the Global Tank Storage Awards 2026, an important recognition in an industry where efficiency, reliability and operational control are more critical than ever.

To mark this milestone, Gianluigi Campisano, Head of the Loginet Fluid Logistics business unit, gave an interview to StocExpo, featured in the Storage Success Stories playlist on their YouTube channel, to discuss Loginetโ€™s vision and how the company is helping shape the future of terminal automation.

Overcoming the Limits of Legacy Systems with a Web-Based TAS

Rather than relying on rigid, fragmented legacy systems, Loginet offers Nuovo Petrol, a Terminal Automation System that acts as the terminalโ€™s centralized digital โ€œbrainโ€. Built on a fully web-based architecture, it lets operators securely access real-time data from any authorized device, without the need for local software installations.

โ€œThis connected approach delivers tangible results on the ground. In high-throughput depots, our clients manage up to 300 loads a day, streamlining the entire process for a tanker from entry to exit in around 20 minutes,โ€ says Gianluigi.

Crucially, TAS Nuovo Petrol is designed to grow alongside each clientโ€™s business. Its vendor-independent architecture means it can easily integrate existing infrastructure and expand the system over time with new modules and features.

The Next Frontier: AI-Powered Terminal Operations

Looking ahead, progress will be increasingly driven by data and intelligent technologies.

โ€œOur next step is to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities in order to support both operational and management teams,โ€ explains Gianluigi. Key applications include anomaly detection, predictive maintenance and deep analysis of operational data to identify and resolve potential issues before they cause downtime.
